His Honour Judge (Jurat) Lieutenant Michael Walter Bonn       1927-1997
His Honour Judge (Jurat) of The Royal Court of Jersey, Lieutenant Michael Walter Bonn, Knight of The Sovereign Military Order of Malta, Deputy of St Peter's, Governor of Her Majesty's Prison Service in The Island of Jersey, and President of The International Dendrologists Society was born at London on 12 January 1927, the son of Major Walter Basil Louis Bonn and Leopoldina (Lena) Davidson of Inchmarlo JP.   Jurat  Bonn  was  9th  in  line  of Descent   from HM King Charles II. .
Michael was educated at Abbotsford RC Preparatory School, Eton College and The Sorbonne, Paris. He later attended The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, after which he was commissioned as an Officer of The Welsh Guards, rising to Lieutenant. He married Elizabeth Mary Buxton.

Elizabeth was born on 18 December 1932. daughter of Major Anthony Buxton of Horsey Hall, DSO, DL, JP, OStJ, MA, and The Honourable Mary Constable-Maxwell.

    The marriage took place at St. John the Baptist, Norwich, on Saturday of Mr. Michael Walter Bonn, son of Major and Mrs. Walter Bonn, of the Grove, St. Lawrence, Jersey, and Miss Elizabeth Mary Buxton, daughter of Major and Mrs. Anthony Buxton, of Horsey Hall, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.   The Roman Catholic Bishop of Northampton officiated, assisted by Father S. Webb, S. J., and Father A. de Zulueta.
    The bride who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory taffeta with a train of Limerick lace and her tulle veil was held in place by orange blossom.   She was attended by two pages - Peter Maxwell and Robin Barclay - who carried her train and wore the Fraser and Barclay kilt, four child bridesmaids - Harriet Davidson, Priscilla Blount, Elizabeth Anne Holford, and Caroline Butler - and by five grown-up bridesmaids - Miss Jean and Miss Judy Buxton (sisters of the bride), Miss Diana Maxwell, and Miss Mary Bridgeman (cousins of the bride), and Lady Anne-Louise Keppel - all of whom wore white organdie dresses and carried crimson roses.   Mr. Christopher Bonn was best man.
    A reception was held at Carrow Abbey.
