FUNERAL OF SIR GEORGE WILLS
The funeral of Sir George Vernon Proctor Wills, Bt., took place at Blagdon Church, Somerset, yesterday.
The Bishop of Bath and Wells officiated, assisted by the Bishop of Taunton, the Rev. E. Marriot (rector of Blagdon), Prebendary G. L. Porcher, the Rev. P E. Hollis, and the Rev. G. H. Mitchell.
The principal mourners were Lady Wills (widow), Mrs. Wynne Willson, Miss Vera Wills, Mrs. Ellison Eberle (sisters), Mr. W. Melville Wills (uncle), Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Rutherford, Mr. Ronald Rutherford, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Price, and Miss E. Price.
Miss Wills (sister) and Mr. A. Stanley Wills (uncle) were unavoidably absent.
Others present included: - Lord Dulverton, Dame Mary Wills, Mrs. Richardson, Sir Frank WIlls, Mr and Mrs. F. O. Wills, Mr. W. H. D. Wills (representing Mr. H. Seccombe Wills), Mr. Bernard Beverly Wills, Mr. Douglas Wills, Mr. and Mrs. Sommerville Gunn, Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Wills, Mr. Ronald Gunn, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gunn, Surgeon Captain and Mrs. Kenneth Wills, Miss Muriel Wills, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fuler Eberle. Mr. and Mrs. George Eberle, Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Eberle, Alderman and Mrs. F. F. Clothier (Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Bristol), Sir George Oatley, Mr LawrenceHignett, Mr. J. Ashley Player, and representatives of numerous societies and institutions in Bristol and the County of Somerset. At the same time as the funeral a memorial service was conducted at St. Mary Radcliffe, Bristol, by the vicar (the Rev. E. L. A. Hertslet). |
